Q: Have you ever bought a book BECAUSE of a bad review?
A:
It really depends on how much I want to read the book. If the back catches my attention, I have been known to pick up a book despite all of the bad reviews. However, more often than not, I find that I tend to agree with the bad reviews. It also helps me determine whether books will have what I call "deal breakers." So, in short, yes. Often? No.

Yeah I agree- it's good to make up your own minds! Bad reviews can sometimes make me intrigues to read the book!

It's hard to pick up a book because of a bad review - but sometimes they're good :) I picked up "Fifty Shades of Grey" because of a bad review and incidentally LOVED it :)

I often read books because of bad reviews, but I rarely buy them, I think. I know that tastes differ and I know that there are some very bad, but also very readable novels, so I don't shy away from books that got negative ratings.. I just don't want to waste my money on them either. *g

Already a follower, I don't think you are following me. I would never by a book just because of bad reviews but I have read books that had bad reviews and loved them.
