Here's this week's question:
Q: What is the BIGGEST word you've seen used in a book lately - that made you stop and look it up? Might as well leave the definition & book too.
A:
Hmm, I honestly cannot remember. The books I remember needing to run to a dictionary were either the LoTR series or the books required for my college courses. Man, I feel like such a spoilsport! *sheepish grin* However, check back in a few weeks. Lolita is currently on hold for me at the library, and I have every confidence that Vladimir will have me searching for my dictionary ;)
I don't recall looking for a word in the dictionary recently as well.

I haven't read LOTR, but I'm sure those books have tons and tons of HUGE words! I hope you come across some word and I'd love to see it. ;)

It's so easy to simply look a word up on my Nook that it's hard to remember specifically which words I looked up. But recently there was a word that had me stumped. The word I had to look up was from David Mitchell's novel Cloud Atlas. Check it out here
ReplyDeleteAlso, I wanted to say that I am absolutely in love with your blog design, colors and everything. It's gorgeous and fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Donna ^_^
DeleteI love your blog design too! Following back!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Beth!
DeleteHi, I'm a new follower through GFC =)
ReplyDeleteLolita is a good one - it really has you questioning your initial thoughts of the book.

Rinn, I've wanted to read it for years! After my dad told me that he really wanted to read it and my mother forbade him, I had to know! Of course, I saw the Jeremy Irons film version when I was still a teenager. Hopefully the library will find it soon!
DeleteI haven't personally read the LOTR series... But being a fan of the movies, I can only imagine the books have some crazy words in them. =D
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog earlier, I'm following you back now <3
I had a really difficult time coming up for an answer for today's question, too. I sort of cheated, too. I didn't actually look this word up. It is just an interesting word I wanted to share.
ReplyDeleteI have to say this Friday Hop is turning into a nice vocab lesson! I like it :)
Here's my Friday Hop
I almost didn't have an answer either til I reached one page in the book I was reading when I made my post then I was like this is perfect.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend
