Here's this week's question:
Q: If you could hang out with any author (living) who would it be and what would you want to do?
I would love to spend some time with Dana Fredsti! She has amazing taste in books and B horror movies! As for what we would do, I presume we would geek out, talk about books, cat wrangle, and walk her puppy on the beach. However, it would be awesome if I could convince her to teach me how to surf :)
Awwww! I am honored! And I would do my best to teach you how to surf, even though it's been a while since I've been out. We'd need to go to San Diego for that portion of our hangout! TOO COLD in the water by SF. And you forgot about the "drinking wine" portion. :-)
ReplyDeleteVery true! I could bring along my peach spumante :9 And, hey, I love SD! My bff and I found a cute little comic shop there. Plus, if we're down there, we can hit up that awesome 50s diner on the pier :)
DeleteOoh, which comic shop? An ex of mine used to work at one on Clairemont Drive... So you're a sweeter bubbly gal! Good to know, GOOD to know...
ReplyDeleteHmmm... this comment may show up twice... So you're a fan of the sweet bubblies, eh? Good to know!!! And do you happen to remember where the comic shop was? One of my ex's used to work at one on Clairemont Drive.
ReplyDeleteHmm, I think it was a block or two from the water, but that's might not say too much. We ate at a little greasy spoon and wandered into the comic shop. And, yeah, I'm more of a sweet bubbly girl ;) If we're in SD, I should get my shoulder tattoo touched up by Ronin at Avalon :)
DeleteSurfing sounds like fun! Check out my FF: http://meandu-justthinking.blogspot.ca/2013/04/feature-and-follow-41913.html
ReplyDeleteGreat blog! You're favorites banner lists a few series I'm unfamiliar with, but I'm a huge Patricia Briggs fan. I haven't read The Dresdon Files, but I still hold a grudge against Syfy for cancelling the show. Thanks for stopping by. I followed back via Linky.
ReplyDeleteLoL! Honestly, after reading the books, I wasn't very fond of the Dresden series. That being said, I feel your pain! Which ones aren't you familiar with?
DeleteIncryptid, Kara Gillian, Dearly, Benny Imura, and Downside Ghosts. Jeez, that's a long list. I only dove into pleasure reading three years ago, before that I stuck strictly to nonfiction (autism research for my son). I didn't know what I was missing.
DeleteI haven't read her books yet. I'll have to look her up.

Dana writes the Ashley Parker novels, which are zombie books :) And, to be completely honest, I didn't like the first book. That being said, through my negative review, we ended up becoming great friends! She is a wonderful lady and a complete geek! I adore her! Maybe someday we will be able to meet in person!
DeleteEven though I didn't like Plague Town, if you like zombie books, give it a chance. Her newest book is getting very high praise!
This is why I would want to hang with King. He seems like a cool guy. Can't wait to see your review on Black House!!
ReplyDeleteAngie
The Black House really is not doing it for me . . . I have been listening to it on the treadmill, but had to stop. It is definitely slow going, and I'm not enjoying it nearly as much as The Talisman. Honestly, I'm not sure how people end up reading this one first! They would be completely lost! Hopefully, I will finish it soon . . .
DeleteI love zombie books! I have Plague Town on my tbr list and just added her other books. :) What are some of your fave B horror movies?? I have a collection of horror movies that's totally awesome with everything - movies in other languages (Italian, French, Japanese, Korean, German...), the black and white classics, demons, ghosts, zombies of course!, Jason, Freddy, Michael...I love the ones in other languages, lol. And Netflix is a B horror movie fan's dream come true! So many on there I could probably watch a different one everyday for a year! :D

My FF
Me too! Even though Plague Town wasn't my cup of tea, definitely give it a try! When you're reading it, keep in mind that Dana is an uber-geek ;)
DeleteMy favorite B horror movies? Wow, that's a toughie! Off the top of my head, I am blanking on titles. That being said, I LOVE slashers! They are totally the bastard child of the horror genre, but they will always be near and dear to my heart. Have you seen Dead and Breakfast? Super cheesy, but the zombie line dance is worth it! Since you love the ones in other languages, have you seen The Orphanage? Super creepy and wicked twist! Also, watch The Awakening! My bro just turned me onto that one. It's on Netflix streaming :) And, yes, Netflix is our dream come true :)
I am always looking for new zombies, so I'm going to check this one out!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting. Following via GFC.

If you're into zombies, take a chance on her books :)
DeleteI've never heard of her before so thanks for introducing me to a new author. I'm curious as to what cat wrangling is... lol New follower!! I love your blog design! My Follow Friday
ReplyDeleteShae @ Understanding Shae's Story
Shae, do you have cats? Cat wrangling is a delicate exercise it trying to catch a cat. It is rather comical :) More often than not, it ends in no kitty :P
DeleteI am loving this comment thread.. and yeah, your negative review is my favorite review because it resulted in a wonderful friendship! And… yes… I … I am a geek. The first step is admitting it. The next step is just enjoying the hell out of it. :-)
ReplyDeleteI am loving this comment thread! And yeah, Sinn, your negative review remains my favorite review because it resulted in an awesome new friendship! And yes… I … I am a geek. The first step is admitting it. The second is enjoying it!
ReplyDeleteAnd this comment may show up twice too 'cause I can't seem to get the knack of doing it just once…
And dang it, it signed me in as my boyfriend and not me the first time! I am obviously a geek with no ability to figure out the commenting function on blogs… LOL!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd see? The first comment showed up under my boyfriend's name! D'oh!!!
ReplyDeleteLOL, Dana, you make me smile! *hugs*
