On a seemingly normal morning after Halloween, collides with three other paper delivery girls as weird stuff starts to happen. Jumped by a couple of people who steal a walkie-talkie, the girls are chased into an abandoned house where they make a discovery. This discovery will lead them on an acid trip of an adventure.
The easiest way to discuss this book is to break it down into the pros and cons.
Pros:
- The art style and coloring choices were spot on!
- The choice of dialogue later in the graphic novel was interesting, and it kept me wondering
- A nice cliffhanger at the end
Cons:
- It is extremely confusing — the dream sequence at the beginning seems random, all of the events with the unlikely saviors, etc. I felt more and more confused the further I read
- Huh? Seriously, what is happening?
This series was recommended for people who love 80s nostalgia and Stranger Things. I wanted to like it. I wanted to love it. However, I spent more time asking myself "Wft is going on right now?" than actually enjoying the story. Maybe later volumes will shed light on it; however, I am absolutely not invested.
